Externally Focused
Growing in partnership with the Holy Spirit to tangibly care for people in the community.

“…seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you…pray to the Lord for it.”    Jeremiah 29:7
  Internally Alive
Deepening our connection with others on the journey; discovering and using gifts and strengths to love one another; and growing in grace, faith and joy.

“By this all people will know you are my disciples if you love one another.”
John 13:35
  Eternally Connected
Growing in the knowledge and experience of God’s grace and truth, responding with increasing passion and obedience to Jesus’ call.

“I am the vine and you are the branches; he who abides in Me and Iiin hom , he bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”    John 15:5
UPC New Congregation
South Lake Union, Seattle WA
This is a new church and worship community for the emerging neighborhood of South Lake Union in Seattle.
Our objective is to create an informal environment for learning about God through community service and the development of authentic relationships, in addition to up-to-date worship services and practical real-life messages. This church will be a community of faith where people can explore faith while sharing common passions and activities - from hikes and dinners to serving the homeless or building houses in Tijuana - with friends who are also asking questions, following Christ, and growing in their own faith journeys.
First and foremost we want to be a loving and serving presence to people in the South Lake Union neighborhood. We envision: a true neighborhood where people are known, have places to gather, and look out for one another. We want to be part of making this happen.
Second, we’re starting a new church. We hope that 80% of regular attendees will be in small groups, and we’ll have larger Community Groups made up of twenty to forty people. We want to see our church family more often than just on Sundays -- and to live out the gospel throughout the week in our neighborhood!
Mission: To participate with the Holy Spirit to be a life giving transformative presence in the city and beyond.
Vision: Externally focused, Internally alive, Eternally connected.
Core Values: Trinitarian, transformative, multicultural community relevantly communicating the gospel of Jesus through creative local service.
Strategy: Traditional emphases include prayer, Christ centeredness, scripture grounded-ness, celebration of the sacraments, priority of people not programs, organization and being a connectional church. The non-traditional emphases include openness to belonging before believing, people over place, going more than bringing, serving over service, the Trinity over functional monotheism and the use of entrepreneurial endeavors.
