For the neighborhood.
Union’s Partners
Our partnerships with local and international organizations are foundational to how we show up for the neighborhood.
Union is part of a mixed use space, with 415 Westlake and Kakáo Cafe being the other ways that we interface with the South Lake Union community. Each arm of the triad exists to seek the welfare and common good of the neighborhood through life-giving partnerships and by building relationships.
Whether it is a tutoring program for school-aged children, making and serving meals for housing insecure neighbors and families undergoing cancer treatment, or participating in a network of support for an individual being released from prison. Partnering with these organizations has a bidirectional influence: Union is blessed and changed by the people we develop relationships with, as we work together for the flourishing of all.
From Lament to Hope
During COVID-19 isolation, Union Church looked outward to find ways to reconnect again. Once a week, the church made and distributed burritos to anyone who wanted one, as an opportunity to visit, socially distanced, with each other and come together for the common good.
In the Breaking
of Bread
Jesus is revealed to us “in the breaking of bread,” a lesson we have learned over and over during the years of ministry and partnership. Read this beautiful reflection (written during COVID-19) on how we as a community have been mutually affected by the ministry of food.
