Welcome to the Table!

A diverse group of teens and adults gather together for a picture at South Lake Union. Lots of smiles and peace signs.

We are a community excited to walk alongside middle and high schoolers as they navigate questions about faith, life, and the world around them. Middle and high school can feel overwhelming, and what makes the difference in this season of growth and change is having faith-filled adults and a supportive community who walk with them and remind them that God loves them, is with them, and that they are never alone on their journey.

Why β€œThe Table”?

The Table is an inclusive and affirming faith space rooted in Luke 14:15. In this passage, Jesus shares the parable of the great banquet. What makes the banquet a true celebration is that those who are usually excluded from the table are the very ones who are invited in and the ones who shape it.

That is the heartbeat of our youth group: middle and high schoolers who might not normally feel included are welcomed and invited into a brave faith-community that forms and shapes them to be more like Jesus, walking with them on their journey of becoming who God created them to be in all their uniqueness and multiple identities.

The Table Values

  • The Table is focused on celebrating and participating in what God is doing in the life of our wider community and friends. Through our orientation towards embracing a life-style of justice, we desire to go outside, where Jesus is, where the action isβ€”faithfully being an active witness in our schools and wider city.

  • Following Jesus invites us into a beautiful journey of becoming fully alive on the inside, awakened to God at work in our hearts, in our friendships, and in the world around us. Through prayer, scripture, and reflection, we begin to see ourselves as God sees us: beloved, worthy, and created with purpose. In small groups and conversations, we deepen our faith and grow into the unique people God created us to be, learning to live with integrity and courage in our daily lives.

  • We are part of something much greater than ourselves, eternally connected to God, to creation, and to one another. These connections reflect the beauty of God’s design, where every person’s story and identity have dignity and value. We are called to nurture these connections by celebrating the diversity of who God has made us to be and by extending love and welcome to others. Through worship, service, and acts of justice, we help create communities that embody God’s vision of inclusion, compassion, and flourishing for all.

HUB Game Night

A Night at the Table

Middle and high schoolers can expect to enjoy good snacks, play fun and connecting games, participate in worship, hear an encouraging message, and spend time in small groups. In small groups, they will get to know one another and their leaders while reflecting on the message, their past week, and how God meets their daily lives.
