Our Rhythm

At Union, we worship in a unique rhythm. Believing that worship is our life lived in response to Jesus’ love for us, it expands our imagination to fully embrace the reality of who God is, and invites us toward justice, healing, and reconciliation. Worship happens through music, prayer, and scripture, and also through dialogue and serving together. This is why every Sunday at Union is a little different, so we can experience a broader sense of worship.

  • These Sundays, through music, prayer, story and scripture, we meet with God and let our lives be reoriented by Jesus and his message.  A visible expression of God's love and grace (communion and baptism) is celebrated on these Sundays and there are people available to pray with you.

  • This Sunday is designed to deepen our connection with others on the journey, discovering gifts and strengths to love one another while growing in grace, faith and joy. We worship through music, prayer, a short message, and a time of small group discussion. Join us for a simple meal after worship.

  • Every Fourth Sunday we gather to put our faith in action and build community through engaging in South Lake Union and our neighborhoods. We welcome you to join us at 415 Westlake at 10am for a short scriptural reflection and then participate in one of the many opportunities of serving.

On Fourth Sundays and for special liturgical events, our worship band hosts an evening contemplative worship gathering at 8 pm.

An audience member with gray hair and a colorful shirt is visible in the foreground.

We welcome you to attend Sunday worship either in-person or online. We livestream the service each week so you can participate in all aspects of worship (singing, prayer, communion). Second Sundays you can join in small group discussion and community time. Fourth Sundays’ service activities are only available in-person.

Kids are a Vital Part of our Church Community

  • Children ages 6 months to 3 years old are invited directly to the nursery where they will be lovingly cared for by our leaders. Please sign in your children at the Welcome Table at the start of church.

  • For children in Kindergarten thru 5th grade, first sign in at the Welcome Table. Kids will begin service sitting with their family and then they are invited to the café space for a time of song, story, craft, and service.

  • Once invited to the Union Kids’ worship time, the Middle Schoolers will meet their leader in the café and head to their worship space for a time of discussion and connection. Middle schoolers are encouraged to sign in at the Welcome Table at the start of service.

  • High School students are invited to participate in worship in a variety of ways, including playing in the worship band, helping with the tech team, or working with the younger kids. On Second Sundays, there is a small group for high school students by the CLIMB ON sign.

We want kids to know they are a part of our community of believers and they are welcome and have a place in the main service. Kids at Union are invited to participate in the main service and worship through music, prayer, and community time. They are then invited to their worship space where they get to experience the love of God through Bible-centered materials and activities.
