Immigration Pilgrimage of Hope
In this Jubilee Year of Hope, Catholics and other Christians throughout Western Washington are called to be pilgrims and prophets of hope by praying for, being in solidarity with, and showering compassion upon immigrants and those who are being held in the ICE Processing Center in Tacoma.
Catholics and other Christians from across Western Washington will make a pilgrimage to the detention center to demonstrate solidarity and express hope and compassion for detainees and all immigrants.
Opening remarks, logistics and other information at St. Leo beginning at 9:30AM. Pilgrimage to the detention center with prayer and song along the way between 10AM to 11AM. At 11AM there will be Mass outside the detention center, and the journey home will begin at noon.
*Please know that for those who are unable to walk in the procession, a bus is available to transport those persons from St. Leo to the ICE Detention Center.
When: Saturday, October 4th from 9:30AM to Noon
Where: St. Leo’s in Tacoma. We are hoping to carpool from Union (meeting at 8:30AM).
