Strong Current

This fall our Sunday focus is: Consider Jesus as we spend time with the writer of Hebrews who, in another tumultuous time,  encouraged people to keep paying attention to who Jesus is rather than be swayed by the ideologies of the day.

 “Consider Jesus. Not hearsay about Jesus, not a domesticated Jesus created in our image--that can have devastating results…No, we look at scripture, we make time with others who know Jesus to share what we're discovering, to ask questions, to challenge small inadequate understandings about Jesus, and encourage one another to step out on what we do know so we can encounter God's faithfulness. We talk to God and even if we may feel foolish, we listen to God. We don't have to complicate it, thinking that there's some special secret spiritual techniques and language. It's a relationship!“
